Handmade in my rural Ohio glass and metal studio, this barrette is made from black glass that has been coated with a gorgeous iridescent gold finish. Etched into the finish is a Celtic knot. Since I make every barrette from scratch, but DO make duplicates of this item, your barrette may have a slightly different width or sheen from the photos (although they remain pretty consistent).
All of my barrettes shipped within the US come to you in a small gift box.
Even if you have extremely fine hair, the French-made clasp on this barrette should hold - my own is very fine and slippery, and I wear one of my own glass barrettes in it nearly every day. I recommend at least shoulder length hair if your hair is fine and slippery. People with thick hair, this barrette should fit you as well.
I do not recommend wearing my barrettes in a pool or shower. I would also avoid playing rugby on concrete or any other extreme contact sport while wearing my barrettes. :)
