This barrette is made start to finish in my rural Ohio glass and etc. studio from a rich cobalt blue opalescent (or opaque) glass. Etched into the finish is a Celtic knot. I make a lot of these out of this glass, and the one you’ll receive will be very similar to the listed one (if it’s not the actual one in the photo).
All of my barrettes shipped within the US come to you in a small gift box.
My barrettes typically measure between 3 1/2" and 3 3/4" (9 - 10 cm long) and 1"(3 cm) wide overall, the actual clip part that holds your hair is roughly 2 3/4" or 7 cm long.
Even if you have extremely fine hair, the French-made clasp on this barrette should hold - my own is very fine and slippery, and I wear one of my own glass barrettes in it nearly every day. I recommend at least shoulder length hair if your hair is fine and slippery. People with thick hair, this barrette should fit you as well.
I do not recommend wearing my barrettes in a pool or shower. I would also avoid playing rugby on concrete or any other extreme contact sport while wearing my barrettes. :)
